Star-studded safaris

The Waterberg Observatory is situated within Leobo and is an integral part of the main house. Leobo’s guides can take you on an exciting tour of the fully automated, revolving dome, and show you constellations and even the surface of the sun. They can offer a night sky safari with a laser pointer and explain the basics of Astronomy and the view from the Southern Hemisphere.

For a deeper understanding of Astronomy we invite Dr Philip Calcott to Leobo to share with you his world class lecture on outer space. Philip studied physics at Oxford, and gained a PhD through Sheffield university, and there is almost no question he can’t answer! Conveniently he lives 45 minutes from Leobo.
